Low Heat Drying Low Heat Drying for "Living Products"
Garden of Life utilizes a proprietary low temperature drying process that minimizes the number of drying steps and allows materials to be dried within hours of harvest. For many materials we are able to utilize a spray drying method that requires minimal temperatures and heating time, and oftentimes requires little or no carrier. This allows for a pure, concentrated final whole food product. This differs from competitor processes that often take days or longer to dry materials, and which dehydrate or concentrate materials before freeze drying.
The focus of most other drying processes is on increasing throughput. In contrast, the Garden of Life® low temperature drying process is all about providing "living" products. Low temperature drying preserves the integrity of the enzymes and heat-sensitive phytochemicals in the product, ensuring high levels of phytonutrients from the fermentation process, and retaining beneficial living organisms and enzymes. By using low-heat drying, Garden of Life ensures delivery of the most bioavailable and active products possible; and replicates the process of eating "straight from the garden" as closely as the modern diet allows. |
